How it Works:
The Fund for Reparations (FFRN) Now is a White-American funded, African-American implemented philanthropic venture that seeks to further the racial healing of America though the implementation of the National African-American Reparations Commission’s (NAARC) 10-Point Reparations Plan. The Fund is designed to model what reparations could look like through the 10-Point Plan until formal reparations are granted from the Federal government. Unlike many philanthropic ventures funded by Whites, the FFRN seeks to remove the historically prevalent paternalistic and "White-savior" elements of White giving. Instead of from a charitable, "give from the good of your heart" spirit, contributions to the FFRN represent long overdue compensation owed to African-Americans for 400 years of mistreatment and theft. In short:
Step Forward:
1. Make the Commitment
Owning up to our past.
2. Pay In
Putting our money where our mouth is.
3. We Can do Better
Saying I’m sorry means we won’t do it again.
